Who we are
TB Alliance is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the discovery, development and delivery of better, faster-acting and affordable tuberculosis drugs that are available to those who need them.
From humble beginnings in Cape Town
TB Alliance was founded at a February 2000 meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, where representatives from academia, industry, major agencies, non-governmental organizations, and donors gathered to discuss the need for new TB treatments. At the time, there were no TB drugs in clinical development and little hope for better cures.
To the largest TB-drug pipeline in history.
Since then, TB Alliance and its diverse and extensive network of partners have embarked on a transformation of the TB drug development landscape. Today, TB Alliance has introduced innovations in TB treatment and manages the largest research pipeline of new TB drugs in history.
See our portfolioWe are working toward our goal to end TB.
TB Alliance is not just developing new drugs but changing the way TB drugs are developed. Our mission is not complete until new drugs are in the hands of those who need them.
It’s our mission to develop better treatments for tuberculosis that are accessible to the millions who are impacted by this deadly infectious disease. We have an opportunity to advance the pipeline of therapeutics that have the potential to significantly improve and shorten the TB treatment experience for patients.”
— Dr. Maria Beumont, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer
