Launched in 2008 as a two-year campaign, I am stopping TB is, again, the theme of World TB Day 2009. On March 24, 2009, we encourage you to celebrate the lives and stories of people affected by TB: patients; healthcare workers; researchers; advocates; community workers; volunteers; donors - any and every one who has contributed towards the global fight against TB.
This year, for the first time, the Stop TB Partnership has unveiled a World TB Day blog that will detail a number of global initiatives taking place in coordination with World TB Day 2009. We invite you to peruse the site, which will be updated more frequently as World TB Day approaches.
This year, as always, the TB Alliance will be actively involved in a number of global initiatives, communicating the crucial role the development of new tools, specifically, drugs, will play in the pursuit of ending the needless burden of this infectious disease.
